The Challenge

The Challenge is part of the National Citizen's Service, which is a flagship government programme for young people aged 15 to 17. It helps build skills for work and life whilst taking on new challenges and meeting new friends. for more info go to http://www.ncsthechallenge.org/

We have been involved with this programme for the past 3 years, and we really enjoy having them.

The Challenge 2015

This year, the challenge visit to GCAA took the form of two groups working on different projects - build a bat box from scratch and a wildlife hotel or to put up the gazebo from a pile of wood and roof tiles which was a bit of a jigsaw puzzle!

The young people did really well to use tools that they'd probably never used before, and helped each other to work out how to do things.

Great teamwork!

The Challenge 2014

The young people from ‘The Challenge’ who came to us on a visit in August, said they would fundraise to help us with the development of the community garden.

We have just received a very welcome £175 from their efforts, their enthusiasm and commitment is impressive.  We will use it towards some hard landscaping and raised beds in the ability area.

Thank you very much Team Sabesan! Amanda, Cailin, David, Holly, Ila, Josh, Niamh, Ruairi, Shannon, Siddiqah, Sophie and Tommy
