More history

By the time Greenmoor opened there was already a thriving allotment association across Nuneaton with most allotments having their own open day show.

The area now known as Milford Street allotments, was owned by the Deemings and were not allotments. On the 31st December 1935, Fitzroy-Newdigate sold 27 acres to the council.  Milford Street area was sold to the council later in 1938.

On the 27 acre site Arbury School was built and opened in 1938,  at the same time Greenmoor Road, Coxes Close and Milford Street housing were built.

During the Second World War the area known as Milford Street Allotments was opened under the Dig for Britain banner, the area can be seen on the photo taken by the German air force.
