About us

Welcome to Greenmoor Community Allotments! Come and join us!

The site

The site is one of the largest in Nuneaton and has around 150 plots, which is split into 2 areas by the public footpath to Cat Gallows bridge.

There is a water supply on site, a community building and a shop selling garden supplies on Saturday and Sunday mornings at very reasonable prices.

We can also lend out a strimmer, lawnmower and tiller to help keep plots in order, for a small fee to cover costs.

Plot fees for 2017 are £33 for a full plot, £15.50 for half – we have some smaller starter plots too.

For more information, please contact us via the contacts page.

Pavilion

Our 'pavilion', so named to differentiate it from the shop and shed! is a community building which we hope to develop further for the use of the local community and allotment holders.

Inside there is an extensive library of gardening and food related books for you to browse while having a break from your labours. We have tea and coffee making facilities which are run on an honesty box basis.

The pavilion is open on fine days at the weekends for all members and visitors to use, and of course for special events and group visits.

The tables were funded by a Warwickshire County Councillor's grant, Caroline Phillips, and the pavilion was funded by Awards for All.

The path was funded by grant from W.C.C. Councillor Bill Olner and Warwickshire Community Recycling Scheme Grants via the Heart of England

Commitment to Community

Under the 'new' lease, GCAA are obliged but also committed to supporting Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council's Allotment Strategy.

To this end, we encourage community organisations to be involved with GCAA to promote the benefits of allotment gardening and we welcome opportunities to work together in related areas for our mutual benefit.

We have donated to the Nepalese earthquake appeal in 2015 in honour of our many Nepalese plot holders, we have also raised funds for Zoe's Place and donated produce for the raffle for the mayor's appeal and to the Healthy Living Network for their community lunch programme.

We are members of the National Allotments Society and the Nuneaton Federation of Allotment Associations which we support as far as we can with their national/local initiatives.

We are involved in small projects with the local community but we hope to develop more links with the wider community.

If you feel that we can help you, please contact us via our contact page.

The Shop

We stock a good range of garden supplies at the shop to sell to members and associate members. We buy in bulk so prices are very reasonable and cheaper than most shops for the equivalent. You can be an associate member for just £1.

Opening times are Saturdays 10-12 and Sundays 9-11am, sometimes a bit later, currently all year except December.

If there’s anything you particularly want, ask Alan and he might be able to order it for you.
