Nuneaton Art Trail September 2016

Great success!

This was the first time that GCAA had taken part in anything like this event and it was a great success. We hosted 5 local artists showing their work: a watercolourist, woodturner, jeweller, drawing/print maker and the 'fish man'.

Over 200 people visited over the weekend, a lot of them went on to other locations and word went around that our site was one of the most enjoyable places on the trail (it helped that the weather was very good and we had tea and cakes!).

The artists had a good time too, and said that they'd love to do it again at ours next year, if there is one.

It was great advertising for the allotments, and shows how much bigger and better things can be for everyone when we work with other community organisations.

A lot of hard work went into the preparation and promotion of this, and as well as our own volunteers, thanks are due to one of our members, Pam Hyams for organising the trail.
