Bonfire night

November 5th and whatever day the civic display is on at Jubilee, are the only days when we are allowed a bonfire on the site.

2016 Bonfire night Saturday 5th.

It was freezing but over 50 people came to the pavilion and enjoyed the BBQ (thanks Andy and Nila), and fireworks.

A good night, thanks for coming everyone.

2015

We had a great evening on Saturday 7th November, largely down to the great efforts of a few people and the wonderful company that turned up...and a tiny bit due to Ralph's wine...

The fireworks were good too.

Thanks especially to Andy and Nila for volunteering (yes, no arm twisting was involved!) to do the BBQ, and for buying all the food, borrowing the HUGE BBQs and cooking it all and bringing the fried onions, to Kev as usual for all sorts of stuff and for being there ALL day from well before 9am to past 9pm, to John for building the bonfire (again), for attempting to put up the 'gazebo', for bringing his northern speciality black peas and all the condiments and for looking after the bonfire, and Ralph for the wine (again). Thanks to everyone else who mucked in on the night.

Drinks were free on the night and the BBQ food was only £1.50 a bun.

2014

On November 1st we had a get-together around a HUGE bonfire and watched the fireworks across the road. The pavilion area, being so high up, was a great place to watch all the fireworks across town as well.

Thanks are due as usual to Ray, Barry, Keith and numerous others for building the bonfire and yet again removing the rubbish and glass from it which some people seem to think is ok to dump, Ralph for bringing the BBQ again, and everyone who came. Next year we hope the pavilion will be open properly!
