Community area development

The community area is an area we have designated as a resource for the local community. It is a work in progress and will develop further according to the needs of the local community groups.

Although the facilities are basic, it is being used for community events as well as by the allotment holders. See the community and events pages for the latest.

March 2017 - Flushing toilets are coming!!

There are some who might wonder what the fuss is about, but they'll be the ones who have access to sheds, compost heaps and the like, say no more. The rest of us are really looking forward to this.

In 2016 we were successful in getting grants towards building a flushing toilet and supplying electricity to the pavilion. This will make it much more usable for everyone including local groups and current plot holders, as well as making the site more attractive to anyone thinking of getting an allotment and of course for visitors.

Work started in March 2017 with groundwork done by Ady and Ed from Bloc Groundworks - fantastic job, thanks guys!

The pavilion (aka large 'log' cabin') was bought with a grant from Awards for All, and installed in January 2014.

The path to provide safe and level access to the pavilion was funded by grant from Warwickshire Community Recycling Scheme via the Heart of England and also a grant from Bill Olner's County Councillor's fund, complete August 2015.

Also in 2015 we had a grant from W.C.C. Caroline Phillips for tables, so visitors could have something to sit at, as well as a way to get to the pavilion without breaking an ankle.

Gratitude is also due in large amounts to the volunteers who put so much hard work and a lot of time into levelling the area and making the path.
